Jeremy was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Davis where he studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During his undergrad he conducted research in organic synthesis, devising a way to synthesize fuel from sustainable sources that exceeds commercial Jet A minimum specifications. After completing his undergraduate studies, Jeremy transitioned to working at UCSF's Cell Design Institute and Lim Lab where he established his interest in the design and construction of synthetic biological circuits. He contributed towards translational and process development efforts for an FDA approved cell therapy, and he made strides to improve the toolkit of synthetic receptors used as IFF gates.
Outside of lab, Jeremy is an avid golfer trying to get back into competitive form. He also enjoys being at the controls of different modes of transportation, like cars or motorcycles (and one day maybe planes). To wind down he likes watching a good movie or TV series and listening to sci-fi audiobooks.
